We first started the Summer of Sewing in 2022 as a way to encourage you all to spread the joy of sewing. I am a firm believer that the simple and meditative action of embroidery can actually change lives - the pride of completing something, the time to switch off, the forced patience and distraction - sewing offers far more than just the piece you stitch. So I have designed a special one off kit for you to pass onto a loved one and help us spread the joy of sewing. Forget-me-nots are one of my favourite summer flowers - the little lilac flower heads start popping up everywhere. The flowers symbolise true love and devotion. Whether that's romantic love, a platonic love, familial love, or all important self-love, we are all devoted to someone or something.
