Our studio talks are virtual sessions covering everything from the creative process, to folk art, to interviews with other artists, to the nitty gritty of running a small business. The sessions take place virtually via zoom, and will take the form of a 40 minute talk followed by 20 minutes of discussion. Each live event is recorded and will be made available to all studio members after the event.
This talk on "The Fascination of Folk Art", Eppie will be joined by two inspiration artists, Marion Elliot and Emma Carlow, who both are influenced by folk arts and folk tales within their work. From Emma's project making a whistle a day for a year, recently exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, to Marion depicting traditional folk activities through her distinctive collages, both artists have a fascination with folk art.
Join us for a discussion as we delve into our interests in folk art, movements and stories that have particularly captured our imagination, and places you can look to, to learn more.
You will be sent an email ahead of the event with details on how to join.
